Research: Multiple, reliable, and valid data and audio-visual sources are synthesized into a clear and logical podcast. These resources have been clearly attributed, especially in the end credits of the podcast.
Design: Creativity and care are applied to the construction and execution of the video podcast. The audio and visual elements are combined to flow logically and a clear genre or tone is established in the 3-5 minute final product.
Content: The goal of this project is to reveal how the historical and literary allusions within the texts enhances them; the research must connect to & illuminate our texts (BNW & The Matrix).
Tech: You may use any software that can combine visual (picture and/or video), textual, and audio elements: PhotoStory, Audacity, MovieMaker, Adobe Premier, iMovie, etc. You may use still photographs and/or videos, animations, animated text, clipart, etc., but your podcast must incorporate some combination of voice and image to convey your data.
Voice: While your podcast must present accurate and clear data, your piece should be creative and interesting. Crafting a podcast your colleagues would want to listen to is your primary task here. The best ones will remain on the class blog as examples for future endeavors.
Drafting: There is evidence of native talent and/or drafting and genuine effort put into the piece such that there are no/few errors in grammar or format and the technical quality of the final movie product is good.
Delivery: Your group must complete the podcast by the assigned due date and submit it electronically by posting it on YouTube. If time allows, podcasts will be presented in class; however, all podcasts will be made available on the class blog for the whole class to review.
The time allotted for the technical aspects of this piece was sufficient that the final product was ready to present on time with all the required elements (images, video and narration) included.
The mash-up can take a variety of forms from a simple music video blending original images with your favorite song to a full-out video mash combining the audio from one film with the visuals from another.
The mash-up needs to generate something NEW from two or more distinct source materials. The new twist can add a layer of social commentary, starkly humorous contrast, or tons of irony. The key is that you have something to say by spinning these sources together in a new way.
The mash-up needs to have good production values; the visuals and the audio should be integrated smoothly and logically.
The mash-up must attribute the original sources at the end of the video to give credit where credit is due.
The mash-up’s new meaning should be clear from the content in the final product. However, the author should also be able to articulate that new meaning to the class verbally as well.
You completed the requisite planning meeting with the teacher where you presented your brainstorm/story-boarding plan for your mash-up with sufficient time remaining to revise and complete your project.
There are no technical difficulties with the final movie (the audio is in balance and is audible, the images are not grainy or pixilated, and the time maximum of 5 minutes has been met).
The time allotted for the technical aspects of this piece was sufficient that the final product was ready to present ON TIME with all the required elements. There is evidence of native talent and/or drafting and genuine effort put into the final product.
